The earliest school photo that I have found to date is this one of my year class at primary school - no doubt taken by the school photographer. It could be that this was our final year together before being broken up by the 11+ exam results to Cottingley Manor, St Bede’s or St Joseph’s. Even though I look a little young to be facing secondary school after the summer break so perhaps it was when I was 9 or 10.
Sadly I don’t have a record of all the pupils and my memory for names has never been good. But I think the boy sat behind me (I am 2nd from right on front row) is Anthony Rourke and the tallest boy in the centre is Michael Poole.
